BEBBINGTON SHIELD.
The following will represent Horowhenua against Oroua, at Foxton, on Saturday 13th August:— Ryder, McDonald, Hunt, Roberts, M. Mete, T. Parata, W. Parata, Jacob (Captain), Hakaraia, D. McDonald, Bond, Gleeson, L. Dalzell, Payne, Tatana. Reserves: —Backs, Warren; Forwards, Gardener. The team will train next Tuesday night and as there will be one practice night only, the selector wishes to impress upon all the necessity of attending. THIRD GRADE TRIAL. The following are the players to represent Shannon-F oxton-P nraparaumu Thirds on Saturday, August 13th, at Foxton, at 1.15 p.m., against Wanderers-Weraroa-Awa-hou: — Full-back: Huff (Foxton), threequarters: J. Smith (Foxton), F. Saxon (Shannon), W. Broad (Foxton), five-eights: M. Dunn i.Foxton), H. Hurren (Paraparaumu), half*: R. Hartley (Foxton), wing: M. McEwen (Shannon), forwards: Anderson (Foxton), Irwin (Foxton), Smith (Para’p’m), R. Berry (Paraparaumu), Warman (Shannon), Iv. Feild (Paraparaumu), Ilibbell (Shannon). Reserves. —W. Waite (Paraparaumu), Hunt (Shannon), backs: Satherley (Shannon), McCarthy (Foxton).
Mr. F. A. Mason, headmaster of the local District High school, is at present negotiating for a football match between a combined team from the Foxton and Levin District High schools and the Hutt Valley High school. Principal of the letter school has expressed his pleasure at the prospect of such a game being arranged, and in all probability the match will be played at Lower Hutt on August 26th.
