GIRL GUIDES
A new company of Guides has been formed by the local Girl Guide •Committee, and has been- registered as the “Princess Elizabeth Company.” The new company was formed fromi a nucleus of the old company together with recruits. Each member of the company is very proud' of her scarlet tie and of the honour of belonging to the first company named after the infant daughter of the Duchess of York.
Miss Kebbel, the District Commissioner, visited Foxton on Thursday last to pass eight girls through their tenderfoot test, and then enrol them, together with Miss Stevenson, who is to become the Brown Owl in the Brownie Pack, in the great sisterhood of Guides. After the enrolment, Miss Kebbel related to the girls an interesting story on duty. She afterwards passed three more girls through their secondclass test.
There armnow quite a number of proficiency badges in the Ist and 2nd companies. Tessie Hussey, who gained her warrant a week or two ago, has also gained the Scriber, Margaret Tyer the Scribes’ and es, Margaret Tyer the Scriber’ and Entertainers’, Melva York Entertainers’, Hazel Owen Entertainers’, and several girls have passed the Hostess Badge, with a view to winning it for their patrol.
