DROWNED NEAR ELTHAM. Elthain, Yesterday. Father Maurice Fitzgibbons, aged about 32, mysteriously disappeared early Sunday evening after attending devotional service. He has just recently arrived from Levin to assist the Parish. He had been an inmate of Lewisham Hospital, Christchurch, for six months lately and as the result of the operations he had undergone was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He came up to Father Moore at Eltham in the hope that a change for some months would lsb him good. Parties had been searching all day yesterday and to-day, and the body of the missing man was found this afternoon ip a deep hole in 'the Waingongoro River, the hat of the missing man being found a mile further up the river. An inquest will be held to-mor-row. The only known relative is a, sister in the Convent in Christchurch.
