MEN’S MEETING.

A Men’s Meeting, in connection with the Presbyterian rally, was held in the Presbyterian schoolroom last evening, when a stirring address on “Chivalry” was delivered by the Rev. Mr Cathenvood, of Turakina. The speaker gave instances from the dawn of civilisation to the present day, and pointed to Christ as the outstanding figure in this connection. His experienres as a camp chaplain proviled him with many illustrations. Mr Hornblow also spoke. At the conclusion of the addresses supper was provided by the men folk, and music, song and story whiled away a pleasant time. Mr W. H. Nicholas presided. On the motion of the Mayor (Mr Perreau), the speakers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
