CASES AT CHILDREN’S COURT.
Christchurch, July 23
A boy of 15, found guilty of robbery with violence and later arrested after being caught red handed trying to break into a city shop with a jemmy was before the Lower Court to-day, the ease having been referred back to the Magistrate from the Supreme Court. Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., committed the boy to the cave of the Child Mfel.fa.re Officer and ordered the mother of the boy to repay the amount stolen) £ll 15s. Christchurch, July 23. “Indifferent at his work, untruthful practically at all times, and an alleged petty thief,” said Chief Detective Lewis, describing a boy aged 15, who appeared at the Children’s Court to-day charged with defrauling city firms of cigarettes by false pretences. He was the younger of two boys concerned in an extensive scheme of fraud of this character. The boy pleaded guilty and was committed to the care of the superintendent of Child Welfare.
