OBITUARY

FREDERICK EBBETT, AGED 39 YEARS. W'e regret to record the death of Mr. Frederick Ebbett, who passed away in the Palmerston North Hospital on Saturday, at the early age of 39 years. Deceased was wellknown in Woodville and Foxton, having been a resident here for the last five years. He was the son of William Wilkins Ebbett, of the armed constabulary police of Opunake, and his parents dying while he was still a child, lie went to Woodville where he was brought up by his uncle, the late John Ebbett. For some time Mr. Ebbett was employed ou his uncle’s farm, and subsequently joined the Papatawa dairy factory. Later he left to take over the managership of the Burnside factory, Wanganui. About live years ago Mr. Ebbett came to Foxton where he was engaged in rope-mak-ing. He was a prominent member of the Foxton silver band, being deputy-bandmaster for a period. For some (considerable time Mr. Ebbett has been in ill-health and three weeks ago was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital for treatment and his death has come as a great- shock to his many friends. He is survived by a widow and three young children (two girls and a hoy) to whom the sympathy of their many Foxton friends will o'o out iii their sad bereavement.. ° The funeral took place at Woodville yesterday.
