STORMY SCENE AT WiANGAEHU
HOTEL,
A stormy scene at the Bridge Hotel, Wangaehu, >vhen a man who had been refused a drink threw a heavy pint glass at the licensee, and followed it' up with a fusilade of bottles, was charged at the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court yesterday on three counts: with committing damage to the extent of 30s, using obscene language, and behaving m. a riotous manner. The Senior- Sergeant said accused was a hard-working contractor who had spent his money chiefly on
drink. ' , „ Restitution of the amount of damage done was .ordered, and on the other two charges accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, and to report as on probation. A condition would be that he took out prohibition orders covering a period of three years.
