YESTERDAY’S SITTING. BILLS INTRODUCED. Wellington, July 22. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 to-day, and, after formal business, adjourned at 2.35 until Wedneday next. . The House met at 2.30 p.in. Replying to Mr H. L. Tapley (Dunedin North), the Prime Minister said that the statement published in the New Zealand Worker of July 13th, that the Government subsidy to local bodies carrying out unemployed relief work was conditional on the rates of pay being 12s for married men and 9s per day for single men was contrary to fact, and entirely without foundation. The following Bills were introduced and read a first'time: Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Bill (Mr W. E. Parry), Building Trades Employees Tools of Trade Insurance Bill (Mr P. Fraser), Christchurch Hospital Amendment Bill (Mr E. J. Howard), Legislature Amendment Bill, No. 2 (Mr H. E. Holland). ,
