Mrs. A. Martin, of Pahiatua, celebrated her 86th birthday on Monday. She arrived in the Dominion when one year old. Miss Owen, who fa undergoing her training as a nurse in the Wei lington Hospital, is spending her annual holiday with her parents in Foxton. .
Air. J. Downing, of Wallaceville, has completed 42 years as a member of the Wallaceville school committee. The following have served over thirty years as committeemen in the Wellington Education Board District: —H. Morrison, Kaitara, 36; J. Thompson, Kaitara, 33; T. Delaney, Stokes Valley, 37; J. Downing, Wallaceville, 42; W. Greig, Upper Hutt, 38; T. C. Prichard, Spring Creek 31; J. A. Moore Havelock Sub., 31; A. Weaver, Kaituna, 31; H. Walden ,Grevtown D.H.S. 34; T. Cripps, Wharanui, 30; J. T. Cavanagh, Humua, 30; R. Brown (deceased), Masterton Central, 30.
