MOTOR SMASH.
NINE PEOPLE INJURED.
Wellington, Last Night
Two motor cars collided at the intersection of Molesworth Street and Lambton Quay at about 2.30 yesterday morning and both were badly damaged. One car, driven by Spencer E. Furreli, of Lower Hutt, was hurled upon its side. William Carter, of Grass Street, Oriental Bay, was the driver of the other car. There were nine persons in jnred.
Miss R. Murphy, residing in Sydney Street, West, suffered cuts about the bead aud arms and was taken to the Hobson Street Private Hospital. Last night she was reported to be doing well and her condition was stated as not serious.
Max Lemner, a single man living in Knight’s Road, Lower Hutt, received injuries to the head but was not badly hurt. Last night the public hospital, to which be had been admit ted, reported his condition as satisfactory.
Miss V. Wells, of Main Road, Lower Hutt, was cut about both legs and also bruised somewhat .severely. She is now in the Bowen .Street Private Hospital.
Another passenger who received ■treatment at the Bowen Street Hospital, was Mrs. Hugh Anderson, of 53 Molesworth Street, who had a finger stitched and then proceeded to her home. Spencer Furreli, after being attended by a doctor for severe cuts about the bead and face, also went to bis home. Minor cuts and bruises wore received by Mr and Mrs N. Taylor, of Jackson Street. Petone, M. Anderson and William Carter. Other passengers escaped uninjured. ■-
