At the local racecourse this morning, in the Austin Banner primary schools competition, Foxton defeated Otaki by 22 points to nil. Arrangements in connection with the Maori team’s tour of the Dominion this season were finalised by the New Zealand Rugby Union at a meeting on Wednesday evening. The Government Tourist Department submitted a detailed itinerary of the tour, which was approved. A number of unions asked for variations in dates but it was decided, to reply that the original dates would be adhered to.

It- was decided that the referees for the Maori matches should be selected by the Referees’ Appointment Board.

it is understood that Potaka is unable to go on the tour and that his place will be- taken by T. Jones of the Wanganui Marist Club. REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURES. Representative fixtures were considered at a meeting of the Manawatu Rugby District Council on Tuesday evening. On July 10, a. return match will be played between Manawatu and Horowhenua at Palmerston, prior to choosing the combined Mana\vhenua team. The council, in response to a communication from the Horowhenua Union, decided to suggest the same date for a junior game between the two districts, to be played as a curtain-raiser to the .senior representative fixture. In reference to a suggestion from the Wellington Union that a junior game should be played between Wellington and Manawatu, the council decided to ask Horowhenua to join in putting in the field a combined team against Wellington. It was also decided to invite Wellington to send a fourth grade team to meet the Manawatu third grade representatives on July 23, the match to be a curtain-raiser to the game between Manawhenua and the New Zealand Maori team. - PROGRAMME OF. GAMES. The following programme of representative games between Manawatu, Horowhenua and combined - Manawhenua teams and other provinces will be played. July 13 —'Horowhenua v. Bush, atLevin.
