FOXTON CROOUET CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING,
. The aunual meeting of the Foxton Croquet Club was held in the Blanket rooms yesterday afternoon, presided over by Mr. R. Bryant (president of the Bowling Club). Also present were Mesdames R. Bryant (president), R. Owen (secretary), J. M. Barr, R. McMurray, C. A. Pearson, E. Huntley, E. Ball, R. Parkes, R. Moore, M. E. Perreau and Miss Speirs, Apologies for absence were received from Misses J. Ross and E. Wanklyn. The annual report and balancesheet, as previously published 'in these columns, were read and adopted. In referring to the report the Chairman congratulated the club on its financial position and also said that with the work done on the green two seasons ago it should be very good for the coming season. He hoped the club would have a Successful year and he had pleasure in donating a trophy for competition during the season. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Mrs. M. E. Perreau; vice-president, Mrs. R. Bryant; secretary, pro tem, Mrs. J. M. Barr; committee, Mesdames Owen, Moore, Parkes and Miss Speirs. Votes of thanks were accorded the retiring President (Mrs. Bryant), and secretary (Mrs. Owen). ADDITIONS TO RULES. The rules and regulations were read and the following added: That handicap single matches may not be booked more than two weeks ahead; that in the event of a challenged player being unable to play on the date suggested she-must give the challenger preference before arranging other matches; that all club matches for players who are bisque 7s'or under shall be played on the official handicap as given at the beginning of the season; that the Wednesday tourney close at the end of March; that the Nye Mallets and Stewart Shields be played on. alternate Mondays throughout the season, the time for starting these matches to be put on the notice hoard the previous featuiday. Details in connection with the Wednesday tourney play were held over for consideration at the next general meeting. The entrance fee for competitions was fixed at one shilling for each competition. The meeting recommended that the committee meet monthly, the day of meeting to be arranged at the first meeting. The trophies won during the season are to be presented on closing day. At the conclusion of the meeting afternoon tea was provided by Mrs. C. A. Pearson.
