SALVATION ARMY

Well attended meetings were held at the Salvation Army Hall on Sunday, despite the unfavourable weather conditions. The campaign concluded last night with a missionary meeting. Brigadier McKay spoke of the Army work in China, India, Japan, the Leper Colony, Java and South Africa, in all of which places she stated New Zealand officers are labouring for God and the people, in many cases and especially in China, under very trying conditions. The Brigadier concluded her address with a few brief remarks concerning the pioneer women officers of the Salvation Army, and appealed to all present to do their best for God in their own particular sphere. The meeting concluded with an old-time coffee supper.
