Mr. De Roux, of Manakau, met with a peculiar mishap there last week, which, however, was not attended bv serious consequences. He was cranking his car, which had been inadvertently left in gear, so that when the engine started the car ran forward knocking Mr. De Roux down and passing over his chest. No bones were broken, and beyond receiving a good shaking, the victim of the mishap practically escaped injury and was able to resume his duties in a few clays.
