PERSONAL.

After fifty years’ service in the Public Works Department, five of which were spent as district engineer, Mr. John Hannah on Tuesday retired from the Department. The funeral of the late Mrs. F. Shaw took place yesterday afternoon. Prior to the cortege leaving for the Foxton cemetery, a service was held at the residence, Ravensworth Place, by the Rev. TV. H. Nicholas, who also officiated at the graveside. The remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of mourners. The casket was covered with beautiful floral tributes.
