“WINNERS OF THE WILDERNESS.”

Stirring days of the French and tied Indian wars, when the English colonies were menaced by the French and their savage, naked allies, forms the coloured background to a romantic adventure story in “Winners of the Wilderness,” coming to the Town Hall to-night. The story is a fascinating blending of historic incidents and romance, and stars Tim McCoy, the new romantic outdoor star, and Joan Crawford, who appears as the lovely daughter of the commandant of a frontier fort. The cast introduces several famous figures of that period, including George Washington, as a young major in the service of the British crown, Captains Gage and Gates, the former a noted soldier, and the latter destined to become a famous national patriot. “Winners of .the Wilderness,” is unusually interesting and entertaining. In his second screen appearance Tim McCoy reveals even greater charm and talent than in “Wax Paint,” his first picture, and promises to rival both great actors and great athletes. Also Clyde Cook conledy and news. Usual prices.

Elaine Hammerstein’s latest starring success, “The Foolish Virgin,” will head Monday’s programme also at usual prices. Save your sides for “We’re in the Navy how,” coming next week.
