SALVATION ARMY.
BRIGADIER McKAY’S VISIT. Brigadier McKay, the Women’s Field secretary of the Salvation Army, arrived from Wellington- on Thursday last, and began the first meeting of the special series, which she is to at 3 p.m. the same afternoon. Despite the very wet weather conditions a number of women gathered when a profitable time was spent. Solos were sung by two of the ladies present. A public meeting was held at night also. Yesterday a cottage meeting was held, when there was a good attendance, and an after-school-rally at which there was one hundred and twenty children present. . To-morrow’s meetings will be conducted by Brigadier McKay, particulars of which are advertised in the church notices. The final meeting will be a Missionary meeting "and coffee»supper. On Monday night, commencing at 7.30 o’clock at which Brigadier McKay will give an address on “Women who have made the Salvation Army.” There will be no charge for admission made; but a special collection taken to defray Sunday expenses.
