THE DESERT’S TOLL. “The Desert’s Toll,” the adventure epic starring Francis McDonald, at the Town Hall on Friday, gives lovers of this type of film thrills galore and is a most fascinating story, very ably interpreted. He is a superb horseman, and his tricks are very, original. He sits on a horse like a Cossack, and seems utterly fearless, as evidenced by the many riders over what appear to he impassible and impossible trails. Also comedy and news. Usual prices. On Saturday Tom Mix, favourite Western star, will make his appearance in “No Man’s Gold,” an adventurous tale in which he is supported by Eva Novak, who has become famous by reason of her being selected from a host of actresses, to take a leading role in the Australian production, “For the term of his natural life.” Prices as usual Saturday.
