Entry fees being £l6 more than last season. Gate receipt's £53. Programme receipts £l3. Your committee applied to have a championship event held at Foxton, but were not successful 'in their application, but have every confidence in getting a championship event for the coming season. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to those who donated cups for competition.
Thanks are due to those who assisted in any way on the day the races were held, also to Mr. Roort Rangiheuea auditor, and to the local press. The balance sheet disclosed a credit balance.”
In moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the President congratulated the Association on its successful year. The previous year it had been thought that the Association had reached the height of its ambition, but last year the receipts showed a substantial increase on the previous year. This was due to increased gates, entry fees, and an increase in the sale of programmes. The increase in expenditure had been chiefly due to the fact that a drain had to be dug round the racecourse to let the surface water away, but this would be non-recurring. The club had every reason to congratulate itself on the fine position it was in. The club, after two years of existence, was far ahead of a number of other clubs in the Dominion. The gate receipts last year totalled £273. In conclusion be thanked the committee for their support during the year. Mr. Perreau also .congratulated the club on its fine position. Mr. Ogilvy pointed out that subscriptions for the year totalled £5 15s, which he considered very small. Out of some 40 odd members only 23 had been financial. It was decided that a list of members be submitted to the next committee meeting, when the matter of financial members would be dealt with. The report and balance sheet were adopted.
