. A graceful tribute was paid Air. W. E. Bullard by his fellow members at the Chamber of Commerce social gathering on Monday evening. The President (Air. Hornblow) said he had been informed that Air. .Bullard was on the verge of his 70th birthday, although his physical activities and appearance classed him in the prime of life. Mr. Bullard, said the speaker, hud been an alrotmd first class athlete
and had captained several district football and cricket (dubs and had always evinced a keen interest in outdoor sports. The toast of Air. Bullard's health was drunk enthusiastically aud with musical honours. In replying Air. Bullard referred to his active connection with cricket and football both in this district and Wellington (he played for the Ponekes) and said his interest in athletic games had not diminished.
