MOTOR ACCIDENT

MR. A. WALLS’ LORRY DAMAGED. A collision occurred at a cross road on Hickford’s Line, about a mile and a-half out of Rongotea, at midday yesterday, between Mr A. Walls’ lorry and a car driven by Miss Clauson, of Rongotea. Mr Walls was returning from Feilding at the time, and on approaching the crossroad noticed the approaching car and pulled up, but the other motorist failed to see the lorry, and struck the vehicle between the front lamp and mudguard, smashing the wheel and bending the front axle. The car sustained slight damage. Fortunately no one was injured. Mr Walls Avas accompanied by Mrs Gupwell, of Foxton. The damaged lorry was subsequently removed for repairs.
