SATURDAY’S RESULTS. SENIOR. Hpi Mai 23 v. Awahou 3. Wanderers 16 v. Weraroa G. Shannon 26 v.Otaki 0. JUNIOR. Awaliou 55 v. Hui Mai 12. Miranui 19 v. Shannon 0. Fox ton 0 v. Weraroa 0. THIRDS. Wanderers 12 v. Foxton 6. Weraroa 29 v. Awahou 0. FOXTON JJUNIORS v. WERAROA A DRAWN GAME. Those who anticipated a fast close, and exciting game between the Foxton and Weraroa Juniors on Saturday were not disappointed. Both teams played clean football and the control was exacting. Weraroa were much heavier in the forward division and had no difficulty in pushing the lighter pack, but were not so successful in the break-away. Perreau made few mistakes behind the scrum although his keenness was on one or two occasions penalised. Royal was a tower of strength, to the local boys in the thick of things and in this connection he was ably assisted by Morgan and Tui Carter while the rest of the pack harrassed the opposition in the loose. Stevenson, Ross, Huff, and Hartley put in some fine attacking movements, but faulty passing spoilt some good openings. The Weraroa back division did not get many opportunities to break away but Broughton was prominent on several occasions. Foxton did most of tho attacking for the greater part of the game. A strong cross wind gave little advantage to either team. Foxton opened with an attacking movement and Ross got away but the pass was wild. Three free kicks were awarded Weraroa for breaches which checked the locals onslaught. Perreau and Wright broke through and Weraroa marked. Huff, Stevenson and Ross started a concerted movement but faulty handling spoilt the effort and Weraroa marked under their goal and cleared to centre. Stevenson was checked aild play was again centered. Stevenson, Ross and Hartley streaked for the line but a forward pass checked the movement and Weraroa obtained relief on their line by a free kick for obstruction. A knock-on spoilt another charge by Ross, Huff and Hartley. Taylor returned a kick to Weraroa 25 and shortly after Weraroa forced. Tui Carter headed a forward rush and looked like crossing and Weraroa were kept busy defending their line. Another knock-on checked Perreau and Ross, and play was centered. Weraroa now transferred play tcriFoxton territory where a free kick against them transferred play to centre. Shortly after a breach enabled Broughton to attempt a shot at goal but the distance beat the attempt. Foxton continued to attack until half time, without Tesult and the spell ended without a score. / Weraroa attacked on opening and Anderson missed a chance through a knock-on and the whistle indicated several breaches, which checked the locals. Hartley, Ross and Stevenson charged down but again faulty handling stopped the advance. Perreau set Huff, Ross and Royal moving, but the latter accepted a forward pass and a free kick cheeked a dangerous movement. Weraroa backs now took a band and gained ground and Perreau was penalised for picking out of the scrum. Perreau and Graham relieved Weraroa’s attack and Ross Stevenson and Huff carried on to the centre. Weraroa again attacked and Broughton put in a fine solo effort, but was well grassed in Foxton territory, and a free kick to Foxton transferred play to centre where Morgan and Hornblow carried on, but Broughton found the line with a good kick. Morgan, Royal and Stevenson got moving and Hynes found the line. Play continued in neutral territory for a time. Huff failed to gather up a pass from Stevenson and the ball was thrown out to Broughton who gained some ground and Werroa carried on in yellow’s territory. Play was again rushed to centre and kicks were exchanged. Mishandling again spoilt another Foxton attack. Weraroa made another open rush but the Foxton defence was sure and play was again transferred to Weraroa’s territory, and Ross looked like scoring, put Broughton secured and found the line. For a time. Foxton kept Weraroa busy defending, but over-eagerness and faulty handling spoilt several openings to cross and the game ended without a score. Mr. K. Davies ably controlled the game which was played in a commendable spirit throughout. The Awahou —Hui Mai Junior game, played on the raceco'drse on Saturday, resulted in a practice game for Awahou who crossed the Hui Mai line with monotonous regularity, the game ending Awahou 55—Hui Mai 12. The game was too one-sided to be interesting. The Foxton thirds met a much heavier team in Wanderers and although they played a sterling game were defeated by 12 points to 6. The Awahou thirds were decisively defeated at Levin by 29 points to nil. The Awahou seniors were unable to mustor a full team to play

against Hui Mni at Levin ond were defeated by 23 to 3.
