A jury i« considering the late of Judd Grey and Ruth Snyder, who murdered Ruth’s older, staid and sober husband to collect £20.000 insurance.
The trial attracted a record attendance of newspaper writers and photographers, who were so numerous that they had to'fight their way to secure accommodation and practically excluded the public from the tiny Long Island courtroom.
In the final stages of tire trial Grey and Airs Snyder accused each other of administering the final tap to tho victim of their plotting with a windowsash weight. Judd declared that Mrs Snyder often prophesied that her husband would drown during the coining summer. or that he would die from an overdose of sleeping powders.
