Mr. J. Broad, of Francis Street, received word this morning that his brother-in-law, Mr. C. Berry, of Blenheim, had passed away, after a lingering illness. Deceased was a brother of Mr. H. Berry, of Foxton.

Mr. G. A. Monk was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Horowhenua Electric Power Board at yesterday’s annual meeting. Mr. Monk has been chairman of the Board since its constitution, a position lie has tilled with marked ability.
