“New Zealand has probably four times as much ice as Switzerland,” said Mr. J. Horn, M.P., at a road conference at Mount Cook. “I have been told that the Tasman Glacier is the largest in the world. It is of 12,000 acres, nearly the size of Switzerland itself.” (Laughter).
