“I want to go to the island, sir; this is no good to me,” said a-se-cond offender, in pleading guilty to a charge of drunkenness at yesterday's sitting of the Palmerston Magistrate’s Court. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady applied for a remand to enable accused to be brought befoe the Magistrate. Ho said that a remand would do accused good. The latter was talking about applying to the Magistrate to be sent to Rotoroa Island. “He was picked up in the street with a large methylated spirits bottle beside him, the contents of which he had consumed,” said the senior sergeant. The remand was granted.
