BOOKMAKER’S CLIENTS
ANOTHER BATCH FINED,
Christchurch, May 12,
A second batch of cases, the result of the recent, raid on the premises of A. V. Whitta, convicted of being a bookmaker, were heard to-day. Virtually all the defendants resided some distance from the city. One was a woman in Southland. Fines were imposed ranging from £2 to £ls for betting with a bookmaker.
