The Awahou-Foxton junior game should attract a good deal of interest on Saturday. There is a great discrepancy in the weights of the two teams, Awahou being much heavier. When Moses took the field to fill a vacancy in the Awahou senior team on Saturday he was given an ovation by the spectators. He certainly proved an acquisition to Awahou and lost-no time in making his presence felt. Time and again he whipped the ball out to the backs and pub in some useful individual work. On one occasion he took a penalty kick and sprung a surprise on County by short punting and gathering up the oval and dummying along the line to within a few yards of the coveted goal line where he was pushed out. County’s superior combination and fast attacking movements were very spectacular and some clever handling of high passes indicated much practice. Bond, the blue skipper, is a forward whose strength and cool headwork was unsurpassed in Saturday’s game.
