PROHIBITION ALLIANCE

MEETING OF LOCAL BRANCH.

The annual meeting of the Foxton League was held on Tuesday evening in the Presbyterian School room. A fair number of members were present and also visitors from Palmerston N. The Rev. Peryman was elected President, Mr Murray secretary, and the Rev. W. Nicholas and Mr Bullard, vice-presidents.

Mr. Kingston, area organiser, explained the proposed plan of work for the ensuing year, and it was unanimously resolved to assist the Alliance in every way possible. It was resolved to forward the name of Mr Symons as the delegate for Manawatu electorate to the annual conference in June.

' A vote of thanks to Mr Kingston for his presence at the meeting concluded the business.
