PROTEST THROUGHOUT MANAWjATU ELECTORATE. All the local bodies and Chambers of Commerce throughout the Manawatu electorate have passed resolutions protesting against the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce’s agitation to change the name of Palmerston North to Manawatu. The Manawatu County Council has foi*warded an objection to the Minister of Internal Affairs, who in reply to that body has stated that the objection will be noted if application is made to change the name.
