USE OF ELECTRICITY
GROWTH IN HOROWHENUA
POWER BOARD TO CONSIDER REDUCTION OF CHARGES.
A very satisfactory year’s progress is outlined in the annual report presented to the Ilorowhenua Electric Power Board by its secretary and treasurer (Air P. W. Goldsmith) on Tuesday. It shows that there is a nett surplus for the year of fi6055, and that the electricity sales amount to £33,880. The principal revenue was from power sales, £14,548; lighting brought in £12,192, heating £3740, water-heaters £2173, and street lighting £1228.
A committee was set up, consisting of Messrs A. Seifert, W. H. Gunning, T. G. Vincent and the chairman (Mr. G. A. Monk) to go into the financial position and report to the Board on the advisability or otherwise of reducing the Board’s charges for electricity and the establishment of a fund to cover renewafg.
