PAULINE FREDERICK AT TOWN HALL ON FRIDAY, IN “STING OF THE LASH.” . Pauline Frederick makes a welcome return in a picture which, offers her role replete with many opportunities for the exercise of her undoubted dramatic ability. The story, which is set iu the city of New York and out West, deals with a woman’s faith in the man she loves and marries. Events progress, and this faith is tried almost to breaking point, and is very nearly shattered by a sequence of highly colourful events, but a reunion is brought about by a child in the closing sequences, who is a niece of her husband. The story is a very strong one, and the introduction of the child in the final is made with due regard to reality, and not ul-tra-melodramatic as these sequences sometimes are. Also “Arabias Last Alarm” (comedy), and News. Usual prices. Fifty years ago —Ireland —brawny gladiators battling on the green turf —lights that lasted the whole day—and all for honour and little cash. This atmosphere is vividly suggested in “Blarney,” the new picture coming to the Town Hall on Saturday. It was adapted from Don Byrne’s famous “Saturday Evening Post” story, “In Praise of James Carabine.” Renee Adoree and Ralph Graves are the principal players. The former appears as an Irish colleen, and the other as James Carabine, world’s champion boxer. This picture’s reproduction of oldtime bouts will amaze and thrill every audience. The Box Plan for “The Big Parade” screening on Thursday and Friday sth and 6th May opens to-morrow Friday morning at R. L. Heath’s.
