PUP AND PIGLETS

STRANGER IN A FAMILY. Sydney, March 11. A farmer of Big Swamp, near Moorland, in the Wingham district of New South Wales, was surprised a day or two ago to find his little puppy among a litter of throe pigs. Not merely was it quite at horn* with the sow, but it appeared to be the favourite of the family. That the puppy had established herself in the good graces of the sow was brought home to the farmer when he attempted to separate them. The sow rushed viciously at him, and it was not until he left the sty that she became calm. There was further trouble for him when lie sold the sow and her litter. Before they could be removed, the pup had to be placed in a bag out of sight until the little family of pigs was well out of the way.
