JOSEPH CONRAD’S DRAMA AT TOWN HALL. A picture that promises much exciting action and a fine story is “The Silver Treasure,” with George O’Brien in the leading role, screening at the Town Hall to-night. Adapted from Joseph Conrad’s novel “Nostromo.” It is a story of South America, and the quest of a valuable shipment of ore by a band of criminals led bv the crafty suave Soltilo'. It is legend that whosoever touches this silver becomes tainted with greed and avarice. Nostromo (George O’Brien), and his gang are men who will sing or fight, but the men will follow their leader to the limit. The manner in which this gang save the treasure from the villains takes the audience through a series of exciting sequences. Also on to-night’s list a star comedy “Going Crazy,” a N.Z. scenic and the latest Patlie News. Prices as usual. A powerful dramatic story, projected against gorgeous scenic background of Alaskan snows in Jack London’s “White Fang,” in which the dog actor “Stronghcart” plays the leading role. This feature will head Monday’s programme and patrons are guaranteed an hour and a half’s line entertainment during its screening. Also a comedy and Gazette. Prices as usual.
