INCREASE IN EXPORTS
IMPORTS REDUCED. FIGURES FOR PAST TWO MONTHS Whereas the trade figures for the 12 months ended December 31, 1926, showed an excess of imports of £4,613,988, those for the first two months of the current year indicate a distinct improvement as compared with the corresponding period of last year. The imports for February, 1927, amounted to £3,292,610, and the exports to £5,015,451, leaving an excess of exports for the month of £1,722,841, as compared with only £40,856 for February, 1926. The imports for the two months ended February 28 ( 1927, totalled £7,303,670 i and the exports for the same period were £10,220,591, giving an excess of exports of £2,916,921, as compared with £418,021 for the corresponding period of last year. The imports during February, 1927, showed a decrease of £997,821, as compared with February, 1926. For the two months ended February 28, 1927, the imports were “down” by £1,647,577, compared with the corresponding period of last year. The exports for February, 1927, showed an increase of £684164, compared with the corres|)onding month of last, year. For the two months ended February 28, 1927, the exports increased by £851,323, compared with the corresponding period of last year. The detailed figures are as follow IMPORTS.
