REJUVENATION A MYTH
OLD AGE INEVITABLE. Washington, March 2. Dr. Hugh Gumming (SurgeonGeneral of the United States) branded gland operations as fallacies. He said rejuvenation was a myth. The inevitability of old age must be fully realised, but the prolongation of life with the reasonable retention of physical and mental vigour, may reasonably be expected to follow a carefully lived life. Dr. Cumtming In dielete the imprints of advancing to delete the imprints of advencing age are designed to preserve or bring back youthful appearance. Scientists, he said, had been zealous in their efforts to replace burnt-out glandular elements, hoping that rejuvenation world result. Those experiments were interesting and suggestive, but at the present time there was no evidence to warrant the assumption that glands from outside sources would cause the rejuvenation of the entire human body.
