PRESENTATION.
Last evening members of the fox ton Tennis Club met at a social evening at the residence of Mr. F. Hay, Park Street, for the purpose of making a presentation to Miss R. Barber on the approach of her wedding. Dancing was indulged in and a most enjoyable time was spent by all present. At a suitable juncture during the evening, the President (Mr R. McMurrav) called on Miss Barber to accept an electric kettle and toaster and in doing so made eulogistic reference to tlie recipient’s long membership with the,club and her efforts during past years in the interests of tennis in Foxton. She was a very useful member and he hoped that they would not be losing her from the club' in the future.
Mi - . F. C. Hay endorsed Mr. McMurray's remarks and in a happy speech wished Miss Barber future happiness,- health and prosperity. Mr. 11. Hornblow returned thanks on behalf of Miss Barber, after which'all joined in singing “For They are Jolly Good Fellows.”
