' X. HUFF WINS’A GRADE POINTS PRIZE.

CUNNINGHAM ANNEXES B GRADE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Last evening the Foxton Amateur Cycling Club brought their series of road races to a fitting close- with two races, one to decide the B grade Championship and another of fifteen miles for A grade riders. The public turned out en force to witness the events. The results/ ai;e as follows: B grade, 1 mile:— First heat: L. King 1, Lockwood 2. Satherley 3. Won easily with even distances between all three placed men. Second heat: W. 'Wright 1. B. Ohrystall 2, E. Cunningham 3. Chrystall rode the best race and nearly defeated Wright for first place. . Final and Championship:—E. Cunningham 1, W. Wright 2, B. Chrystall 3. The result wus a surprise, Cunningham proving a “dark horse.” Weight was beaten by half a wheel having left his final dash a little late. Chrystall rode well. A grade, fifteen miles: — H. Huff (40 see) 1, Shortt (25 see) 2, P. Honour (40 see) 3. Huff rode a great, race and won easily. E. Robinson had hard luck in losing his pedal in the last lap, after leading all the way and had it not been for this misfortune a. close finish between lie and the first man would have resulted. Aldridge, the scratch man, dropped out after the fourth round. Coley hit a dog in the tenth lap but was not hurt. The bike was slightly damaged.

Huff has now won the A grade points prise also. He was accorded a great reception after the race and cheers were given for him.

At. a recent meeting of the above club the question of constructing a cycle track on Easton Park was discussed. It was stated that Mi*. Hempleman, of the British Pavements Ltd., had agreed to supply estimates and specifications for the track free of cost. It was decided to carry the thanks of the club to Mr. Hempleman for his generous offer.

The Levin Club wrote offering to conduct, an evening meeting, ' the proceeds to be devoted to assist the local club in laying down a (rack. The details were left in the hands of the secretary. Accounts amounting to £3 Os (id were passed for payment.
