SHOT THROUGH HEART
SUICIDE AT FATHER -IN- LAW’S HOUSE. Auckland, February 12. A sensational affair occurred ill a house in Albury Road, Epsom, in the early hours of Saturday morning, George Maurice Langley Ryan shouting himself through the heart on the veranda, of the residence of his father-in-law (Mr. Augustus All wood).
At an inquest opened no Saturday, by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., it was stated there had been matrimonial differences between Ryan and his wife and that a maintenance order was made against deceased in the . Magistrate’s Court yesterday. When Ryan went home last night he had apparently been drinking. At about half-past- 2 he went to the house of his father-in-law (where Airs. Ryan was living) and demanded to see his wife. Air. Al'lwood stated that deceased had an automatic pistol in his hand. Ryan went away and a moment later the report of a shot was heard. Deceased was found lying prone on the veranda with a wound'through the heart. Aledieal aid was summoned, but death took place in a few minutes. The inquest was adjourned.
