BOWLING.

Yesterday afternoon a rink consisting of Huntley, Christie, Nyc, Thomson (s) visited Levin Club for the purpose of trying conclusions with Suhan's team for the KinneImrgh Feathers. The weather conditions were ideal for the match, and the green was very fast, so much so that Foxton howlers found it difficult to judge weight and width, and in fact the same to some extent may he said of the home players. At one period of the game Foxton appeared likely to run out winners, hut this pleasure was denied them ultimately,' the final scores showing a margin of six points in. favour of Levin. For the first three heads Levin accumulated a handicap of seven points over their opponents, two threes and a single—hut Foxton on the fourth found the length better, and match-

ed a three, following with two singles, making the scores 7-5 on the sixth end. On the completion of the ninth the visitors had a lead ol’ one, and the thirteenth saw the scores even —eleven all. The fourteenth end yave Foxton another single, but for five succeeding heads Levin counted in two singles, two twos and a four, which practically decided the issue in their favour —- 21-12. On the last two heads Foxton picked up a two and a single, leaving th£ final scores 21-15. Some good bowls were played once the rinks got settled down, and the game for the most part was a strenuously, contested one. Monks, leading for Levin, played a good game, beating the opposing lead on most heads, and was principally responsible for his side, win. Christie, playing two for Foxton, held his team up for the greater part, while Thomson, as skip, was almost, equal to the heavy demands placed upon his skill throughout the strenuous game. Bull, Suhan’s third, played useful bowls, and 'was a tower of strength to his skip. Levin scored on one more head only than Foxton, three threes and a four being the decisive scores. The details are as follows: —Monks, Percy, Bull, Suhan (s) 21 v. Huntley, Christie, Nye Thomson (s) 15. On Saturday two rinks from Shannon will pay a visit to Foxton Club.

On Wednesday of next week three rinks from Foxton will visit Otaki Club. Local players wishing to make the trip should hand in their names promptly.
