FOXTON DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.

COMMITTEE MEETING

The monthly meeting of the above committee was held in" the secretary’s office last evening. Present: Messrs F. Wloods (chairman), R. Rangiheuca (secretary), J. K. Homblow, M. E. Perreau, Alsop, Hutchins and W&flton. Apoligies for absence were received from Messrs Stevenson and John Ross. The secretary and headmaster were authorised to forward particulars to the Education Board re conveyance of children from Motuiti and Himatangi to and from the school.

A statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the annual concert was submitted which showed a net credit balance of £22. It was decided to apply for a subsidy on this amount, and to use same for ground improvements, fencing and concrete work..

The balance sheet of the Beach side-school concert was also submitted which disclosed a net credit balance of £2 to be expended on side-school equipment. Votes of thanks were passed to the headmaster and’ teaching staff for organising and (carrying out the functions.'

An account for cleaning the sideschool was left in the hands of the secretary with power to act.

Accounts amounting to £32 0s 2d were passed fpr payment. It: was resolved that- the annual school picnic lie held on the Ashlmrst Domain on Friday, 25th inst, and that public subscriptions be solicited to defray expenses in connection with same.

It was reported that full details in connection with the visit of their Royal Highness the Duke and Duchess of York to Palmerston N. on March 4th were not to hand, but that, only children from Standard 3 and upward would be conveyed to Palmerston on the occasion and entertained. 1

Other routine business was discussed and the meeting rose.
