“BEER TALK.”
LEADS TO FISTIC ENCOUNTER
AND FINE,
At the local S.M. Court yesterday, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., Sid Harris and John O’Reilly were charged by the police with fighting in the bar of Whyte’s . Hotel on January Ist. Constable Owen said that the two accused canie to blows after an ar-' guniont in the hotel. { ■ Asked by the Bench if they had anything to say, O’Reilly said they had had a few beers and an argument , followed. Asked what they were arguing about, witness said, “the beer was talking.” . The S.M.: I suppose the beer did the fighting too? Witness: “Yes. There was only one blow struck and I stopped that.” Both accused pleaded guilty and were fined £1 with costs 10/-.
