A wireless message from the Renown stales that the ceremony of crossing the Equator-began to-daj, when, according to custom,,the ship stopped, and King Neptune and his retinue came aboard bearing a foimal permission to cross the line. All details arc arranged for the shaving and ducking of novices to-morrow. These number nearly a thousand. The Duke anjclDuchess lof York have both previously crossed, therefore llie Duchess will be' invested with the Order of Freedom of the Seas, Mistress of the Mermaids, Sea Nymphs, aud all such .creatures. During the afternoon the Duke and Duchess presented medals to the winning football ,team in the ship’s competition, also rifle shooting medals.
