RUDOLPH VALENTINO IN “THE EAGLE.”
Action and Tomantic ardour are stressed in “The Engle/’ Rudolph Valentino’s latest, picture, which •will screen at the Town Hall tomorrow (Friday) night only. The romantic star is seen as a Russian —in garb more picturesque than ayy he has previously worn —first, as a Cossack Lieutenant, then as the bandit who became known as tli'e “Engle,” because of his swift, mysterious exploits. The star is supported by a large and distinguished cast, including Vilma Banky ,and Louise Dresser. The action of the story takes place in Imperial Russia .before the revolution. The romance starts in a brilliant royal setting and then goes to the Russian countryside. With supporting items “The Eagle” will be screened at usual prices.
Cyclonic laughter that increases with every foot of film is the order of “The Crackerjaek,” with dynamic and scintillating Johnny Hines portraying the role of a “go-getter” who brooks no obstacles to gain his end. There is laugh upon laugh and thrill surmounts thrill in this most ingeniously ’ clever comedy drama of love. “The* Crackerjack” will head a fine week end programme screening on Saturday night.
