ROAD CYCLE RACING.
NEWSON AND KING ANNEX EVENTS.
Last evening the Foxton Amateur Cycling Club organised two road cycle races, which attracted good entries. The public turned out on force to witness the events. The results are as follows: —
A grade, 10 laps:—C. Newson (75 sec) 1, H. Huff (65 sec). 2, P. Honour (45 sec) 3, D. Satherly (35 sec) 4.
An easy win for Newson, who was never; headed. A close finish between Huff and Honour. SatlierIv rode well.
B grade, 5 laps:—L. King (20 sec) 1, E. Coley (30 sec) 2, J. Smith (20 see) 3, H. Newson (20 see) 4. King rode a good rae-e and just beat Coley by u small margin. Smith and Newson about two lengths away. POSITION OF RIDERS
The position of the riders for both grades is as follows: A grade:—D.. Satherly 7 points, C. Newson 6, Marshall 6, RoDjnson 5, Aldridge 4, H. Huff 4, P, Honour 3, K. Martin 3, C. Shortt 1. B grade:—L. King 12 points, H. Newson 9, E. Cunningham 6, E. Coley 6, Aldridge 2, Smith 2, J. Satherley 1, P. Lockwood 1.
A euchre party in aid of the above club will be held in Hamer’s Sample rooms to-night. Good prizes and supper.
