THE ROYAL VISIT
NEW ZEALAND TOUR APPROVED ITINERARY. Following is the latest approved itinerary of the visit of Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of York while in New Zealand. It is unlikely that any further alterations will be made in the arrangements, except possibly of a minor nature, so far as icertain hours of •arrival or departure are concerned and such alterations, if any, will he duly notified: — Tuesday, 22nd February: Arrive at Auckland. Stay at Government House. Wednesday, 2nd March: At ToAuckland . Thursday, 24th February: Arrive Russell in morning (deep sea fishing). Friday, 25th February: At Russell (deep sea fishing). Saturday, 26th February: Retium to Auckland in H.M.S. Renown and proceed by rail to Rotorua, with short stop at Hamilton. Maori concert in evening. Sunday, 27th February: At Rotorua. Monday, 28th February: Maori gathering at Rotorua in morning. Proceed by motor to Taupo, thence to fishing camp at Tokaanu. Wednesday, 2nd March: AT Tokaanu in morning; then proceed by motor to Wiaimarino (National Park) to connect with Royal train. Thence by night journey to New Plymouth. Thursday, 3rd March: Arrive New Plymouth early in morning; public welcome New Plymouth. Proceed by train, with short stops at Stratford and Hawera, to Wanganui, thence to Palmerston North, where stay night. Friday, 4th March: By train from Palmerston North to Napier, with short stops at Dannevirke and Hastings. Arrive Napier in the afternoon; sleep on the train. Saturday, sth March: Leave Napier early morning by ti’ain, short stop at Woodville, Masterton, arrive Wellington late in the afternoon. Stay at Government House.
Sunday, 6th March: At Wellington. Monday, 7th March: At Wellington. Tuesday, Bth March: At WellingSleep in H.M.S. Renown, leaving early .following morning for Picton. Wednesday, Oth March: Arrive Picton. Rail to Blenheim and thence by motor to Nelson. Thursday, 10th March: Leave Nelson; rail to Glenhope, thence by motor; lunch at Murchison. Arrive Westport about 5 p.m., stay the night. Friday, 11th March: Leave Westport, 9 a.ni., join train Inangalma, proceed direct to Hokitika, with stay of ten minutes at Reefton, returning to Greymouth half past five, where stay the night. . Saturday, 12th March: Leave Greymouth, 11 a.m. Arrive Christ- J church about 5 pun.
Sunday, 13th March: At Christchurch. Monday, 14th March: At Christchurch. Tuesday, 15th March: At Christchurch. Wednesday, 16th March: Leave Christchurch by train for Dunedin, with short stops at Ashburton, Timaru, and Oamaru. Arrive Dunedin in the evening. Thursday, 17th March: At Dunedin. Friday, 18th March: At Dunedin. Saturday, 19th March: Leave Dunedin by train for Cromwell, stopping en route at Ranfurly, thence by motor to Pembroke, where stay the night. Sunday, 20th March: At Pembroke. Monday, 21st March: Motor from Pembroke to Queenstown (afternoon on Lake Wakatipu), where stay the night. Tuesday, 22nd March: Leave Queenstown, 8 a.m.; stop, say, one hour, at Gore, two hours at Invercargill, and arrive at Bluff about 6 p.m.; thence to join H.M.S. Renown, anchored off Stewart Island. Depart for Australia.
