PERSONAL
The death took place at Palmerston yesterday of a well-known resident in the person of'Mr. George Johnstone Scott, aged 87 years. The late Mr. Scott was for many years Deputy Official assignee. He leaves a widow, one daughter (Mrs. J. P. Innes, of Palmerston North), two sons (Messrs, 0. H. Scott, of Wellington, and J. Scott, of Brisbane). There are 13 grandchildren and 0 great grandchildren. Mr W. J. Poster, a well-known farmer, of Bnllanciq died yesterday at noon, outside his residence. In preparation for a journey by ear, he went outside to crank up the vehicle and was found lying on the ground in an unconscious (condition. He died shortly afterwards. Deceased was one of the. original farmers of Bnllnnce. having farmed in the district for the past 38 years prior to which lie resided in Masterton. He leaves a widow and several children.
