PERSONAL.

Mr and Mrs Alf. Madsen, and family, of Pahiatua, are spending a holiday at the local seaside. Mr. \V,. J. Clare, of Ngatea, infoims the Auckland Herald that Miami Mrs Thomas Clare of New Plymouth, were both born at New Plymouth in 1843, and they were the first couple to be married at New Plymouth that were born there. They celebrated their diamond wedding in New Plymouth in October, 1925. Mrs Clare has since crossed over the great line. They were married at New Plymouth iu 1804 by the Rev. John Whitely, who was afterwards murdered by the natives at the White Cliffs, Pukearuhea.
