A boy, Mervyn Allum, aged 15, while bathing with some other boys, at Port Hacking, was seized by a * large shark which stripped the flesh from his leg and lacerated the lower part of his body. His companions drove the monster off. Allum was brought ashore but died en route to the hospital. ,•
