MANAWATU-OROUA RIVER BOARD.
♦ TWELVE NOMINEES FOR NINE C- VACANCIES At noon yesterday, the closing hour for receiving nominations for the Manawatn-Oroua River Board, twelve names were in the hands of the returning officer. In the Moutoa, Oroua and Koputaroa sub-di-visions, the nominees were not- in excess of the number required, but for the Kairanga and Makerua areas, an election will be held on January 11. The nominations were: — Moutoa. —Messrs B. G. Gower v and W. S. Carter (two vacancies). Oroua. —Mr. A. Buchanan (one vacancy). Kairanga:—Messrs R. Tanner, D. Buchanan, J. E. C. Harrison, and N. P. Nielsen (two vacancies). Makerua: —Messrs A. W. Akers, A. Seifert, H. Barber, and H. Akers (three vacancies). Koputaroa: —Mr J. Richardson tone vacancy).
